Die Deutsche Meisterschaft wird ab 2007 in Berlin ausgetragen.

Mit der Entscheidung, die GCWDC nicht mehr wie gewohnt in Kleinostheim auszutragen, ist die BERLIN OPEN als 3-tägiges Event allein in Deutschland verblieben. Beide Events haben sich viele Jahre gegenseitig unterstützt und genießen national wie international ein hohes Ansehen. Nicht zuletzt die ständig wachsenden Teilnehmer- und Besucherzahlen der BERLIN OPEN, sondern auch die Idee den Deutschen Meistertitel in der Hauptstadt zu vergeben, führte zur Entscheidung dieses Privileg an die BERLIN OPEN zu übergeben.

Damit wird nicht nur die gute Zusammenarbeit und Unterstützung beider Events weitergeführt, sondern auch für die Tänzer in Deutschland wieder eine Möglichkeit geschaffen, den Titel - Deutscher Meister -  zu erlangen.

Ich persönlich freue mich sehr über diese Entscheidung. Ich habe den Weg der Berlin Open von Anfang an verfolgt und begleitet. Mit grenzenlosem Engagement haben Susi, Gert und Enrico ein einzigartiges Turnier geschaffen und verdienen unser aller Anerkennung und Unterstützung. Ich kann mir keinen würdigeren Nachfolger vorstellen. Viel Glück und Erfolg für die kommenden Jahre.

After the decision not to continue the GCWDC in Kleinostheim as usual, the BERLIN OPEN will be the only full 3 day event in Germany. Both events have supported each other over the years and are well known as prestigious events in Europe. Not least the continuous increasing numbers of competitors and spectators, but also the idea to award the title GERMAN CHAMPION in the capitol of Germany led to the decision to award this privilege to the BERLIN OPEN.

This way we will continue the existing cooperation and open up the opportunity for all dancers to achieve this prestigious title once more.

Alle Guten Dinge gehen einmal zu Ende! Und so sitze ich nun hier und versuche ein paar aussagekräftige Worte dafür zu finden, was sich über die letzten Jahre eigentlich abgezeichnet hat, nämlich das Ende der Deutschen Meisterschaft im Country Western Tanz in Kleinostheim.

Ich kann Euch versichern, daß mir diese Entscheidung nicht leicht gefallen ist und daß sie keinesfalls überstürzt getroffen wurde. Ich bin mittlerweile fast 15 Jahre in dem Bereich Country Western Tanz aktiv und haben alle Stufen der Entwicklung vom begeisterten Zuschauer, über die ersten eigenen Schritte, dem ersten Turnier in Holland, der Gründung des GCWDA-Dachverbandes bis hin zur Durchführung der Deutschen Meisterschaft intensiv erlebt. Sicherlich gab es in dieser Zeit auch viele negative Erlebnisse über die in der Vergangenheit viel diskutiert wurde, aber was mir am stärksten in Erinnerung geblieben ist, war der Teamgeist der freiwilligen Helfer, welche über die ganzen Jahre endlose Stunden gearbeitet haben, um die Meisterschaft zu dem zu machen was sie war. Und insbesondere die Freude in den Gesichtern unser zahlreichen jugendlichen Teilnehmern und die dankbaren und aufmunternden Kommentare vieler Besucher waren immer eine würdige Entlohnung nach den anstrengenden Monaten der Vorbereitung. Das alles werde ich sehr vermissen.

Es wurde auch viel spekuliert über die Tatsache, daß meine Auszeit genau zu dem Zeitpunkt kam als sich die meisten europäischen Turniere von UCWDC losgesagt haben. Hierzu kann ich nur sagen, daß diese Entscheidung die einzige vernünftige Lösung im Sinne der Tänzer war und es tut mir sehr leid, daß ich nicht mehr Energie in die WCDF einbringen kann. Denn diese Organisation wurde für die Tänzer geschaffen und verdient jegliche Unterstützung die Ihr geben könnt, sowohl bei den nationalen Turnieren, als auch bei den Weltmeisterschaften in Dublin diese Jahr.

In Realität sind es die immer weiter steigenden Anforderungen im Beruf, die mich an die Grenze meiner Leistungsfähigkeit getrieben haben. Ein gesundheitlicher Zwischenfall diesen Sommer hat mich in meiner Entscheidung kürzer zu treten weiter bestätigt. Früher war es immer wieder mal möglich hier und da ein Stündchen zur Organisation der Meisterschaft abzuschneiden. Heutzutage ist es schon ein Glücksfall in der Mittagspause Zeit für eine Mahlzeit zu haben. Deswegen ist es in meinen Augen sehr wichtig die wenige Freizeit zum entspannen und "aufladen der Batterie" zu nutzen. Die Meisterschaft fordert aber wesentlich mehr Zeit um jedes Jahr wieder zu dem Resultat zu kommen, daß Ihr immer im Juni erlebt habt. Die, die mich besser kennen wissen, daß alles bis ins letzte Detail im Vorfeld geplant wird und ich mir einen halbherzigen Einsatz meinerseits nie verzeihen würde. Aus diesem Grund habe ich entschieden aufzuhören bevor ich irgendwann vor den Trümmern eines schlecht organisierten Turniers stehe und mich frage wie das passieren konnte.

Es wird mir sehr fehlen, alte Freunde und Bekannte Jahr für Jahr in Kleinostheim zu treffen. Ich bin jedenfalls auch weiterhin unter joerg@adp-web.de zu erreichen und freue mich über jede Mail, sei es Fragen zum Tanzen, anderen Turnieren oder einfach nur Lebenszeichen ;)

Ich werde jetzt versuchen in meiner Freizeit mehr von der Welt zu sehen, mich als Hobbyfotograph weiter zu entwickeln (wenn’s Euch interessiert könnt Ihr Euch hier einige meiner Bilder anschauen) und wer weiß....vielleicht werde ich ja auch noch Papa bevor ich 40 bin ;)

Vielen Dank für Eure Unterstützung all die Jahre und hoffentlich sieht man sich zumindest gelegentlich irgendwo auf dieser Welt.

All good things must come to an end! So I am sitting here now trying to find a few meaningful words to explain what many of you already expected, the end of the German Country Western Dance Championships in Kleinostheim.

I can ensure you that this decision didn't come easy to me and that I took a long time to consider. I was a part of the country western dance scene for the past 15 years, starting as a spectator, learning the first steps, the first competition in the Netherlands, the founding of the German Country Western Dance Association to organizing the German Championships for many years. There were several bad experiences in the past, which were discussed intensely in the public forums, but most of all I remember the spirit of all those volunteers at the Germans, who worked endless hours to the result you saw every year. Especially the smiles on the faces of our younger competitors and encouraging comments of many spectators and competitors are memories I will never forget. I will surely miss all of that.

There was a lot of speculation about my "timeout" exactly as most European competitions separated from UCWDC. All I can say is that this decision was absolutely necessary and made with the best for the dancers in the mind. I regret that I can't invest more time into the development of the WCDF and I would like to ask you to support all of the national events and the World championship held in Dublin this year.

In reality the problem was the constantly rising expectations in my daytime job, which pushed me to my limits. An incident with my health this summer further supported my decision to take a step back. In the past it was always possible to "cut out" an hour here and there to work on the organization of the Germans, nowadays I call myself lucky if I find time for a lunch break. The competition itself actually demands a lot more time to produce the result you enjoyed every year. Those of you who know me better will agree that I tried to plan every little detail ahead and that I was trying to be prepared for every eventuality. I would never forgive myself if I'd tried to put on this event half-hearted. And for that reason I came to the conclusion to stop at the top before I stand in front of a big mess asking myself how this could have happened.

I will truly miss to meet old friends year after year in Kleinostheim, but I am still available at  joerg@adp-web.de and I am looking forward to your mails containing questions about dancing, competitions or just a proof of life ;)

In my spare time I will now try to travel the world some more, improve my skills with a digital camera (if you would like to see some of my pictures click on the following link) and who knows maybe I will try to become a dad before I turn 40 ;)

Thanks for your support over all these years and hopefully I will see you again sometimes soon anywhere on this planet.

Wie viele von Euch sicherlich schon gehört haben gibt es in Europa eine neue Organisation, die World County Dance Federation. Sie entstand nachdem sich die meisten europäischen Turniere von UCWDC abgespaltet haben. Nähere Informationen findet Ihr unter dem oben stehenden Link. Diese Organisation wurde gegründet im Interesse der Tänzer und hat meine volle Unterstützung.

Many of you know already that there is a new organization in Europe called the World Country Dance Federation. It was founded after most of the European Competitions split of from UCWDC. Hallo Zusammen,

 mittlerweile sind mehr als 3 Monate vergangen seit der Beendigung der 10. deutschen Meisterschaft unter meiner Leitung. Es wurden zwar keine Neuigkeiten hier gepostet, aber es hat sich viel getan hinter den Kulissen. Leider war nicht alles positiv und nachdem ich ein ehrlicher Mensch bin, ist es nur fair, daß Ihr an dieser Stelle die Tatsachen präsentiert bekommt anstatt irgendwelcher Märchen…

 Im August diesen Jahres trafen die meisten der europäischen Veranstalter von UCWDC in London zusammen, um über die Zukunft der europäischen Turniere zu beraten. Dieses Meeting diente dazu eine gemeinsame Marschrichtung festzulegen und diese dann in dem allgemeinen Meeting von UCWDC im September in Las Vegas zu vertreten. Leider kam es in diesem Zusammenhang zu Unstimmigkeiten zwischen einigen der Veranstalter, die in meinen Augen professionell gelöst wurden.

 Die Zusammenfassung des europäischen Meetings und die darin beschlossenen Ergebnisse wurden dann im Sinne eines einheitlichen Europas in Las Vegas  präsentiert, aber leider von der amerikanischen Seite komplett ignoriert, ja ganz im Gegenteil widersprüchlich umgesetzt.

 Nachdem ich mich, als Veranstalter der deutschen Meisterschaft, auch als Sprachrohr für die deutschen und europäischen Teilnehmer sehe, kann und will ich diese Entscheidungen, welche klar gegen die Interessen der europäischen Tänzer ausgelegt ist nicht weiter mittragen und habe mich demnach am 12. Oktober diesen Jahres entschlossen meine Mitgliedschaft bei UCWDC zu kündigen.

 Hinzu kommt die Tatsache, daß sich mein privates Umfeld aus beruflicher Sicht so stark verändert hat, daß eine weitere Organisation der deutschen Meisterschaft schier unmöglich scheint.

 Aus diesem Grund werde ich im Jahr 2006 keine deutsche Meisterschaft ausrichten, um dann für das Jahr 2007 diese Entscheidung neu zu überdenken.

 Ich bitte hiermit um Euer Verständnis für diese Entscheidung und stehe Euch natürlich für Fragen gerne telefonisch oder per Email zur Verfügung. Ich bitte aber auch gleichzeitig um Verständnis dafür, daß ich interne Entscheidungen von UCWDC weder benennen, noch erklären oder kommentieren werde.

 Ich versichere Euch, daß ich diese Entscheidung nicht unüberlegt oder leichtfertig getroffen habe. Mich schmerzt es sehr alles hinter mir zu lassen was wir gemeinsam mit vielen dankbaren und engagierten Helfern über die letzten 11 Jahre aufgebaut haben. Wenn es auch immer sehr anstrengend war die Organisation eines solchen Turniers mit einem regulären Job und dem Privatleben zu kombinieren, so war es immer eine absolut lohnenswerte und erfüllende Erfahrung, wenn alle Helfer intensiv zusammenarbeiten, um ein bestmögliches Turniererlebnis für alle zu gewährleisten und die überwiegende Anzahl der aktiven und passiven Tänzer nach dem Wochenende erschöpft aber zufrieden nach Hause reisen. Ich möchte mich an dieser Stelle nochmals ausdrücklich bei allen Helfern für die Unterstützung bei der Durchführung der deutschen Meisterschaft bedanken. Ohne Euch wäre ein Turnier dieser Größenordnung nicht möglich gewesen. Ihr wart Spitze! Ein herzliches Dankeschön geht auch an unsere Kunden, die Tänzer und Zuschauer, welche uns die ganzen Jahre die Treue gehalten haben. Die positiven Kommentare und das zahlreiche Erscheinen jedes Jahr zeigt mir, daß unsere Strategie die richtige war.

Hi Everybody,

 more than 3 months have passed since the end of the 10^th annual German Country Western Dance Championships under my control. I didn't post any news since, which doesn't mean that there was nothing going on behind the scenes. Unfortunally there're not too many positive things to report and since I am an honest person I thought you deserve some facts instead of a bunch of lies…

 This August most of the European event directors got together in London to discuss the future of the European competitions. This meeting was called to set the direction for the next couple years and to speak with one voice for the European directors and competitors in the UCWDC general meeting this September in Las Vegas. There were some differences between the European directors, which in my opinion got solved in a professional manner.

 The summary of that European meeting including the decisions reached were presented at the Vegas meeting, but unfortunally all European interests got completely ignored or reversed to the complete opposite.

 As the event director for the German Country Western Dance Championships I see one of my responsibilities to speak on the behalf of my customers. Judging the decisions reached I can and will not support them, since they are in clear conflict with the interests of the European competitors. Therefore I resigned my membership with UCWDC effective as of October 12^th 2005.

 Another aspect of this whole situation is the fact that my responsibilities towards my employer drastically changed when I started a new job within the company this July. It seems almost impossible at this time to make room in my busy schedule to organize an event of this proportion.

 Therefore there will not be a German Country Western Dance Championships in 2006. I will then reconsider this decision for the year 2007.

 I would like to ask for your understanding for this decision and I will gladly answer your question on the phone or through email. But I would like you to accept the fact that I will not talk about internal UCWDC issues or comment on them in any kind of way.

 I assure you that this decision didn't come to me easy and it deeply hurts me to leave behind what we build up together with so many dedicated volunteers over the last 11 years. Even though it was exhausting to organize such a big event and work a full time job at the same time, it was a very fulfilling experience when all those volunteers came together to provide such an extraordinary atmosphere in endless hours of work to the point that a vast majority of the dancers and spectators went home absolutely happy and grateful after that weekend. I would like to take this opportunity to thank again all those volunteers for their support in producing the German Country Western Dance Championships over the last 10 years. Without your support there wouldn't have been a competition like that. You're the best! I would also like to thank our loyal customers, dancers and spectators alike, who supported us over all those years. All those positive comments and the huge numbers showing up every year gives me the feeling that we did something right.

Herzlichen Dank für Eure zahlreiche Teilnahme an den German Country Western Dance Championships 2005. Wieder mal ging ein erfolgreiches Turnier zu Ende, und all daß ist nur möglich dank der  zahlreichen Meldungen der aktiven Teilnehmer, dem Erscheinen von unzähligen Zuschauern und der unglaublichen Hilfe des besten freiwilligen Helferteams der Welt. Ich kann diesen Leuten nicht genug danken, die teilweise bis zu 16 Stunden am Tag im Einsatz waren. Hier zumindest einmal die namentliche Nennung in alphabetischer Reihenfolge (Ich hoffe mal ich habe niemand vergessen)! Zusätzlich sei auch noch all denjenigen gedankt, die es möglich gemacht haben, um 20:30 die Halle komplett an die Stadt zurück zu geben. Ihr seit spitze!

Thank you very much for your participation at the German Country Western Dance Championships 2005. Again we managed to run a very successful event and that's only possible due to the numerous registrations of our active competitors, tons of spectators and the incredible work of the worlds best volunteer team. I can't thank those people enough. Some of them put in up to 16 hours a day! Here's at least a list in alphabetical order (I hope I didn't forget anybody) In addition to that, many thanks go out to the people who helped cleaning the hall on sunday night. We managed to return the keys at 8:30 PM and that never happened before. You are the best!

Es erreichen mich immer wieder Fragen zum Inhalt der FUNdamentals Kurse, deswegen hier eine gute Quelle der Information: Im Regelwerk von UCWDC einfach auf Seite 32/33 (Apendix F) scrollen. Die Punkte 1-5 sind Bestandteil des ersten Kurses, die Punkte 6-10 beim Zweiten.  Denkt daran Euch im Vorfeld anzumelden, die Nachfrage ist sehr hoch und es kann passieren (muß nicht), daß man bei Anmeldung vor Ort keine Möglichkeit besteht teilzunehmen. Außerdem habe ich Aufgrund diverser Änderungen die finale Teilnehrmerliste doch nochmal aktualisiert. Ich glaube das war wohl eher Wunschdenken von mir, daß ich fertig bin ;) Wenn Ihr noch weitere Fragen habt, postet sie einfach ins Forum oder schreibt mir ne Mail ich bin noch bis Mittwoch in der Lage zu antworten und bitte überweist ab sofort kein Geld mehr, es wird nicht mehr rechtzeitig ankommen!

A lot of question about the material of the FUNdamentals that will be covered reach me every day. Here's a great source of information: Check the UCWDC Rules on page 32 and 33 (Apendix F). The subjects 1-5 will be covered in part A of the class and 6-10 in part B. Please remember to preregister for the class they are going to be pretty busy and you might be left outside if you just show up at the door. Also I updated the competitors list again due to the many changes. I guess it was just my hopes that the last list was really final ;) If you got any further questions post it in the forum or write me an email, I will be able to answer till Wednesday and please don't transfer any money now, it won't get here in time!

Wir möchten alle Teilnehmer des Choreography Wettbewerbs am Freitagabend (Country und Non-Country) bitten möglichst bald nach der Ankunft beim DJ Ihre CD's abzugeben. Der Zeitplan wird dieses Jahr extrem voll sein und wir möchten versuchen gerade am Freitag, wo Abends noch der Pro-Am Wettbewerb stattfindet, Verzögerungen zu vermeiden. Im voraus besten Dank.

We would like to ask all competitors in the choreography division to hand over their CD's to the DJ as soon as they get there. The schedule is so packed this year and we would like to avoid delays in starting that competition since the Pro-Am's will run pretty late already anyways. Thanks for you support.

Wie manche von Euch sicherlich schon im Workshopplan gesehen haben, statten uns auch in diesem Jahr Jutta und Michael einen Besuch ab. Ihre Workshops erfreuen sich jedes Jahr einer großen Beliebtheit. Nachdem sie aber nicht so aktiv in unserer Country Western Szene sind wissen wir über die beiden sehr wenig. Aus diesem Grund haben sie Euch ein paar Informationen zu sich selbst und zu den 2 Workshops an diesem Wochenende zusammen gestellt:

Michael Walter ist ausgebildeter ADTV Tanzlehrer & Tanzsportlehrer und Tanzsporttrainer B im DTV. Er tanzte in der höchsten Leistungsklasse bei den Amateuren in den Standard- und Lateinamerikanischen Tänzen. Seit 1996 tanzt er bei den Professionals über 10-Tänze und erreichte zusammen mit seiner Frau Jutta bereits 1997 das Semifinale der Deutschen Meisterschaft. Seitdem liegen beide in der Allroundsection unter den 10 besten Profipaaren Deutschlands.

Zum den beiden Workshops 16.00 - 17.00 Uhr und 17.00 - 18.00 Uhr

Cha Cha Cha - Fortgeschrittene,  auch Turniertanzeinsteiger möglich (Paare und Linedancer)

Nach einer kurzen Einführung zu den First Principles in Cha Cha Cha (Poise/Körperhaltung, Fußarbeit, Hüftbewegung, Schulterführung, u.a.) vermittle ich eine kurze Schrittfolge grundlegender Basics die sowohl in Paartanzchoreographien wie auch im Linedance anwendbar sind. Diese Solo Callisthenic Exercises for Cha Cha Cha kann jeder Teilnehmer allein trainieren, so dass eine Teilnahme auch ohne Tanzpartner möglich und sinnvoll ist (Linedancer).

Slow Waltz - Fortgeschrittene, auch Turniertanzeinsteiger möglich (Paare und Linedancer)

Nach einer kurzen Einführung zu den First Principles in Waltz (Poise/Körperhaltung, Footwork/Fußarbeit, Rise & Fall/Heben und Senken, Swing/Schwung, Sway/Neigung und Bodyshaping) vermittle ich eine kurze Schrittfolge grundlegender Basics die sowohl im Paartanz wie auch im Linedance anwendbar sind. Die Schrittfolge kann jeder Teilnehmer allein trainieren, so dass eine Teilnehmer auch ohne Partner möglich und sinnvoll ist (Linedancer).  

Many of you might have seen in the workshop schedule already that Jutta & Michael are back again this year. Their workshops are always well attended and recommended. Since they are not really that close connected to the Country Western Dance scene we know very little about those too. To change that they wrote down a couple of infos about themselves and the two workshops of this weekend:

Michael Walter is a certified ADTV dance instructor & competitive coach at the B Level of the DTV (German Dance Association). He was dancing at the highest amateur level in the standard and latin-american dances. Since 1996 he is dancing in the 10-dance Professionals Level and reached, together with his wife Jutta, the semi finals at the German Championships. They are one of the Top 10 professional couples in Germany since then in the allround section.

About the workshops on Saturday 4 PM an 5 PM

Cha Cha Cha – Nov/Int, also for entry level competitors (Line Dance and Couples)

After a short Introduction about the First Principles in Cha Cha Cha (Poise/Frame, Footwork, Hip movements, Shoulder leads, etc.)   a short amalgamation using basic step will be taught, which can be used by couple dancers and line dancers alike. Those Solo Callisthenic Exercises for Cha Cha Cha can be practiced by yourself, which means that you don't need to bring a partner to the class.

Slow Waltz - Nov/Int, also for entry level competitors (Line Dance and Couples)

Hi, ich schon wieder ;) So sehr ich mich über Eure Unterstützung freue, möchte ich Euch bitten von weiteren Anmeldungen oder Änderungen abzusehen, auch nicht mit dem Onlineformular. Vielleicht ist das Vielen nicht bewußt, aber der Grund warum es einen Anmeldeschluß gibt ist der, daß wir erst wenn alle Teilnehmer in der Liste stehen einen Zeitplan erstellen können, dann die Judges einteilen und danach einen Workshopplan machen. Wenn wir auch nur eine Heat in einer Division hinzufügen müssen, dann macht das beim endgültigen Zeitplan fast eine halbe Stunde aus (6 Tänze) und alle anderen Pläne müssen angepasst werden. Ich bitte um Euer Verständniss.

Hi, it's me again ;) As much as I appreciate your support, I would like to ask you not to send me more registrations or changes, not even with the online form. Many of you might not know what's going on behind the scenes, but the reason for the deadline is that only when the last competitor is in the list, we can work on a time table. After the time table is done we can plan the judges schedules and then the workshop schedule. So if we have to add a heat then in one division, it changes the whole time table by almost 30 minutes (6 dances) and all other schedules have to be changed to. I hope you understand.

Hier ist Eure finale Teilnehmerliste. Nachdem wir nun alle benötigten Informationen haben, werde ich die Zeitpläne nochmals überprüfen und dann bis spätenstens Mittwoch hier zur Verfügung stellen! Lasst mich nur so viel sagen: Es wird ein spannendes und ereignisreiches Wochenende. Am Samstagabend haben wir eine Show mit vielen Weltmeistern wie Sam & Denise Miller, Lee Easton, Giovanni Coenmans, Yvonne Hlousek, Joachim Hering, Johan Kieftenburg & Sophia van Hees. Am Sonntag treten dann 6 (!) Superstars für Euch gegeneinander an und viele interessante Entscheidungen in allen Divisionen während des gesamten Wochenendes. Also nicht verpassen, wir haben extra Platz für Euch reserviert und Zuschauerkarten gibt's an der Kasse ;)

Here's your final update of the competitors list. Now that we have all the information needed I will check the schedules one more time and then release them here no later than Wednesday! Let me tell you this much: It's going to be an exciting weekend. We have a show on Saturday night filled with World Champions like Sam & Denise Miller, Lee Easton, Giovanni Coenmans, Yvonne Hlousek, Joachim Hering, Johan Kieftenburg & Sophia van Hees. There's a total of 6 (!) Superstars competing for you on Sunday and lots of competition in all divisions during the weekend. So don't miss out, we got plenty of room for all of you and spectator passes are available at the door ;)

Hallo Zusammen,

der Zeit- und Workshopplan macht gute Fortschritte und ich hoffe Euch schon direkt zum Anmeldeschluß am 25. Mai einen verlässlichen Plan bieten zu können. ACHTUNG: KEINE VERBINDLICHE AUSSAGE!!! Nach derzeitiger Sachlage sieht es so aus als ob am Freitag alle Choreography Divisionen (ohne ABC und Tag), Prelims in Newcomer Female Youth und Open und alle Pro-Am/Pro-Pro Divisionen stattfinden.

Aufgrund diverser Anfragen haben wir nun doch die Tag-Division in Choreography mitaufgenommen. Sollte also jemand einen Tag-Tanz in ABC gemeldet haben, bitte ich um eine kurze Mail an Petra um diesen Eintrag zu ändern. Sorry für diese Unannehmlichkeit, aber wenn wir am Jahresanfang tatsächlich die Regeln hätten, wär das auch einfacher Formulare dafür zu machen ;)

Desweiteren möchte ich Euch nochmals 3 Dinge ans Herz legen: Wenn Ihr könnt, meldet Euch für die Dance FUNdamental Kurse bei Jeff an, dort lernt man echt viel von der Theorie, die hinter der ganzen Sache steckt. Außerdem lässt die Beteiligung and unserem Country Line Dance Countdown noch stark zu wünschen übrig. Wo sind denn all die Leute, die sagen wir spielen zu wenig Country Musik? Schreibt mir eine Mail mit Eurer Top 10. Und last but not least: Wir nehmen noch Anmeldungen für die Line Dance Challenge an. Nähere Info's gibts auf der GCWDC-Seite unter Details. Soviel sei gesagt: Die beiden Erstplatzierten des letzten Jahres sind wieder am Start!

Und nicht vergessen: Anmeldeschluß ist der 25. Mai!

the competition and workshop schedule are almost done and I hope to present it to you right on the last cut-off date on May 25th. ATTENTION: NO DEFINITE SCHEDULE!!! The way it looks right now we will run the following divisions on Friday: Choreography (without ABC and Tag), Prelims in Newcomer Female Youth & Open (more Prelims may be added) and all Pro-Am/Pro-Pro Divisions.

Because of many requests we added the Tag-Division for Choreography. If there's somebody out there who registered a Tag-Dance in ABC please send a short Email to Petra to get it changed. Excuse me for that little inconvienience, but if the rules would be released at the beginning of the year, it would be so much easier to get out correct registration forms ;)

Also there are 3 more things I like to remind you off: Go ahead and register for the FUNdamental classes with Jeff. You will learn so much of the theoretical basics behind our dance sport in a very interesting way. On behalf of our Country Line Dance Countdown I have to say that there is not very many Emails yet. Where are all the people who say that we are not playing enough Country Music? Email me your Top 10! And last but not least: We are still accepting registrations for the Line Dance Challenge. You can find information on the GCWDC-Page under Details. It looks promising, because the Top 2 from last year are already registered again.

And don't forget: General registration ends on May 25th!

Ok, es geht los. Ihr habt alle sehr gespannt darauf gewartet und hier ist sie: Die Teilnehmer Liste 2005. Sie befindet sich auf dem Stand von Freitag und ist somit schon wieder etwas veraltet. Alle Teilnehmer sollten somit eine Emailbestätigung erhalten haben. Der wichtigste Punkt ist jetzt, daß alle Teilnehmer noch einmal prüfen, ob sie in allen Division gelistet sind. Viele Anfragen haben uns erreicht bezüglich der Internetregistration und auch für uns ist dies das erste Jahr in dem wir das anbieten. Demzufolge kann es eventuell zu einigen kleinen Problemen kommen. Wenn Ihr alle Eure Eingaben prüft, dann können wir eventuelle Fehler noch weit vor dem Turnier bereinigen. In den nächsten Tagen werde ich dann die ganzen Zeitpläne finalisieren und hier veröfentlichen. Bis dann erstmal vielen Dank für Eure zahlreiche Unterstützung für internationale Meisterschaft im Country Western Tanz.

Ok, here it is! All lot of people were anxiously waiting for it: The competitors list 2005. We included every entry we recieved till Friday, so by now this list is actually outdated. Every competitor should have received a Email confirmation by now. The most important point right now is, that every competitor checks if he/she ist listed in all the division registered. Over the last couple weeks we got a lot of Emails about the internet registration process and the confirmation letters. For us this is the first year also that we're doing this and there for there might be some problems. If everybody checks there information we can find and correct them way before the event starts. In the next couple of days I will be working on the schedules and then release them here. Till then let me say thanks for your huge support of the German Country Western Dance Championships.

Zurück auf vielfachen Wunsch: Die Karaoke After Party am Sonntagabend. Also für alle, die letztes Jahr eine Ausrede nach der anderen gesucht haben: Hier ist Eure persönliche Einladung und das auch noch 6 Wochen vorher!

Die Party findet wieder im selben Restaurant (Gasthof zum Schwanen, Schwanengasse 15, 63801 Kleinostheim) statt, welches leicht erreichbar im Zentrum von Kleinostheim liegt.

Dieses Jahr kommen wir auch besser vorbereitet! Wir haben mehr als 2000 Lieder für Euch und Ihr könnt sogar Eure eigenen CD's mitbringen. KJ Sven für Euch die Scheiben drehen und wir werden auch sicher stellen, daß uns nicht wieder der Baileys ausgeht ;)

Also verpasst dieses einzigartige Ereignis nicht, welches es absolut wert ist eine Nacht dranzuhängen. Ihr werdet es bereuen, wenn Ihr nicht auftaucht. Die Show startet zwischen 10 und 10:30 Uhr, sobald wir die Halle übergeben haben. Scheut Euch nicht beim Abbau zu helfen, um den Prozess zu beschleunigen.

Back by popular demand: The Karaoke After Party on Sunday Night. So for all of you who made up excuses last year: Here's your 6 week notice!

The Party will take place in the same restaurant (Gasthof zum Schwanen, Schwanengasse 15, 63801 Kleinostheim) as last year, convienently located in the center of town.

This year we come prepared! We got over 2000 songs for you and you can even bring your own. KJ Sven will take care of you and we will also make sure that we won't run out of Baileys again ;)

Make sure you won't miss it, it's very well worth the extra night and you will regret it if you're not showing up. Show starts between 10 and 10:30 pm as soon as we cleaned the hall. Feel free to help with the cleaning to speed up the process.

Wie auch schon im letzten Jahr hat sich Bernhard Hering breit schlagen lassen seines Amtes als "Meister der Grashalme und Knochensteine" zu walten. Solltet Ihr Interesse haben ein Zelt oder Wohnwagen mitzubringen, möchten wir darum bitten Eueren persönlichen Platz auf dem Bebauungsplan per Email unter Bernhard.Hering@gmx.de zu reservieren. Kosten belaufen sich auf schlappe € 5,- pro Person für das Wochenende. Selbstverständlich gibt's auch wieder die Möglichkeit im Massenlager der Turnhalle mit Schlafsack und/oder Isomatte nebenan zu übernachten und das kostet nichts außer Nerven ;) Allerdings gilt das Hallenangebot  nur für die Nächte Freitagnacht und Samstagnacht.

There will also be the opportunity to stay overnight in the sports hall next door with a sleeping bag or so. Es freut mich sehr Euch ankündigen zu dürfen, daß uns auf der diesjährigen Meisterschaft der Präsident von  UCWDC, Jeff Bartholomew, einen Besuch abstattet. Unter anderem wird er auch die Teile A und B der Judge Certification Dance FUNdamentals unterrichten.

Der erste Teil umfasst die ersten 5 Punkte des Curriculums (Basic Pattern, Movement and Footwork, Turn Technique, Posture and Frame, Lead and Follow) und ist angemessen für all diejenigen die auf dem Fundamental Level eine Prüfung ablegen wollen. Der Kurs ist 3 Stunden lang (Freitag, 10. Juni von 10:00 – 13:00 Uhr) und kostet € 20,-.

Der zweite Teil beinhaltet die Punkte 6-10 des Curriculums (Styling, Floor Craft, Choreography, Phrasing and Musical Interpretation, Team Concepts) und ist angemessen für all diejenigen die auf dem Journeyman Level eine Prüfung ablegen wollen. Der Kurs ist 3 Stunden lang (Freitag, 10. Juni von 13:00 – 16:00 Uhr) und kostet € 20,-.

Beide Kurse sind offen für alle Tänzer und sind empfehlenswert sowohl um sein Grundwissen in dieser Tanzsportart aufzubauen bzw. aufzufrischen, als auch für alle diejenigen, die vorhaben sich in nächster Zeit für das Judge Certification Programm zu bewerben. Alle Judges, die noch nicht ihre Journeyman Prüfung abgelegt haben, müssen jedes Jahr den Teil B belegen.

I am very glad to announce that the president of the UCWDC, Jeff Bartholomew, will join us for this years Germans.  Among other duties he will be teaching Parts A and B of the Judge Certification Dance FUNdamentals classes.

Die Registration für die GCWDC 2005 läuft auf Hochtouren. Mitterweile haben wir schon mehr als 100 Anmeldungen in ca. 650 Einzeltänzen. Dies ist eine sehr beachtliche Zahl zu diesem Zeitpunkt, auch dank unserer neuen unkomplizierten Online Registration. Eine der am häufigsten gestellten Fragen im Moment ist "Wann bekomme ich meine Bestätigung?" Das Computerprogramm für Registration und Auswertung wird uns in diesen Tagen zur Verfügung gestellt und dann wird Petra so schnell wie möglich damit anfangen die Daten zu erfassen. Danach gibts dann die Bestätigung per Mail und auch die erste Teilnehmerliste, damit Ihr seht was in Euren Divisionen so alles los ist. Habt noch etwas Geduld und nehmt Kontakt zu uns auf, falls Euer Name nicht in der Teilnehmerliste erscheint.

Registration is well on it's way for this years Germans. We already have more than 100 competitors in approx. 650 dance entries. This is a very good number thanks to our new and easy online registration, which played a part in this also. One of the most frequently asked questions these days is "When do I get my confirmation?" Well, the computer program we are using for registration and scoring will be made available to us in the next few days. Petra will start entering the data as soon as possible. After that you will receive your email confirmation and a first competitors list will be posted on this page, so you can see what's going on in your division. So please be patient with us and contact us if your name will not appear in the competitors list.

Wie die meisten von Euch ja schon wissen werden wir dieses Jahr einen Country Line Dance Countdown durchführen. In der Zeit von Freitagabend bis Sonntagabend werden wir Eure beliebtesten Country Line Dance von Platz 20 bis auf Platz 1 herunterzählen. Wir hoffen mit dieser Aktion unseren tradionellen Country Musik Fans einen Schritt entgegenzukommen und vielleicht auch ein paar von unseren jungen Tänzern für diese Musik zu begeistern. Selbstverständlich gibt es darüberhinaus noch reichlich Country Musik für Paare und Line Dancer von unserem DJ Mark Danner. Um bei dieser Aktion mitzuwirken möchte ich Euch bitten eine Email mit Eurer persönlichen Top 10 (Name des Tanzes, Lied und Interpret) an gcwdc@adp-web.de zu schicken. Im voraus besten Dank.

Most of you already know that we are running a Country Line Dance Countdown this year. From  Friday night to Sunday night we will count down your favorite Country Line Dances from place 20 to 1. We sincerely hope to take a big step towards our traditional country music fans and maybe we can reach out and interest some of our young dancers for this kind of music. Of course there will be a lot more Country Musik for Couples and Line Dancers alike during the event by our DJ Mark Danner. Wir haben noch ungefähr 3 Monate bis zum Turnier, es wird also höchste Zeit wieder ein wenig Leben in diese Seite zu hauchen. Fangen wir gleich mal an: Wir haben mittlerweile den Song für die Line Dance Challenge festgelegt. Er ist von Britney Spears und heißt "Do Somethin'". Die Version, welche im Turnier verwendet wird hat einen Cut bei 1:13 direkt bevor Britney wieder zu singen anfängt. Nähere Info's zur Line Dance Challenge findet Ihr hier! Desweiteren wurde nun auch der letzte fehlende Showcase Song für Funky Line Dance veröffentlicht: Space Cowboy von Nsync. Für nähere Informationen zu dem Special Editfindet Ihr auf der UCWDC Homepage.  In den nächsten Tagen geht's weiter mit den News, unter anderem zu den Themen Special Guests, Country Line Dance Countdown und neues Logo. Die endgültige Version der Regeln wurde mittlerweile veröffentlicht. Ihr könnt Sie entweder hier auf meiner Seite oder direkt bei UCWDC abrufen. Desweiteren ging die Seite mit den Schrittbeschreibungen und der Showcase Musik verloren bei der Korrektur der Links. Diese sind wieder online, ergänzt um die neuen Smooth Tänze und die neuen WCS Songs für Couples & Pro-Am.

Schön, daß Ihr den Weg auf unseren neuen Server gefunden habt. Die Daten für die Deutsche Meisterschaft 2005 sind nun auf dem aktuellen Stand. Als ersten Neuerung dieses Jahr darf ich Euch ganz stolz unsere Online Anmeldung vorstellen. Selbstverständlich habt Ihr aber nach wie vor auch die Möglichkeit die PDF-Formulare ausdrucken und mit der Schneckenpost auf die Reise zu schicken ;) Soweit erstmal viel Spaß und bis demnächst mit neuen Updates!

Der Termin für nächstes Jahr wurde mittlerweile festgelegt. Die deutsche Meisterschaft findet vom 10. - 12. Juni wie gewohnt in der Maingauhalle Kleinostheim statt. Desweiteren werden wir von T-online gezwungen bis zum Jahresende den Server zu wechseln. D.h. ich werde nach meinem Urlaub (bis 15. November) anfangen die neuen Infos und den Umzug vorzubereiten, so daß am Jahresende alles auf dem neusten Stand ist. Es wird dann einen weiterleitenden Link auf dieser Seite geben.

The dates for next year have been fixed. The Germans will take place from June 10th - 12th at the Maingauhalle Kleinostheim. I am also forced to change servers by the end of the year, which means that I will start preparing in new information and the move after my vacation (till Nov 15th) so that everything is available to you at the end of the year. The will be a forwarding link here to the new page.
