Hi everybody! It's been rather quiet here lately. This will change again as I am getting ready to put information out about the Germans 2004, which will take place from June 11th - 13th  in Kleinostheim again. Right now I am  negotiating our special guests for next year. As soon as these negotiations are final I will post them here. Let me say so much: I am more than thrilled if everything works out the way I have it planned. I also decided to get rid of our Non-Country Division since UCWDC added Non-Country by introducing Funky and now the Novelty division. We were just ahead of time. To stay ahead of time I came up with another idea to replace Non-Country, it's called Line Dance Challenge. Details will follow shortly and I do believe that this will be a lot of fun for competitors and spectators alike. So stayed tuned for more news in the next couple weeks.

Hallo zusammen! Es war zugegebenermaßen sehr ruhig hier in letzter Zeit. Dies wird sich jetzt aber wieder ändern, da ich jetzt anfangen werde Information über die deutsche Meisterschaft 2004 am 11. - 13. Juni in Kleinostheim zu posten. Im Moment bin ich gerade dran Verträge mit den Special Guests zu verhandeln. Sobald wir hier ein Ergebniss haben werde ich Euch informieren. Ich kann nur schon mal so viel verraten. Wenn alles klappt wie ich mir das vorstelle, können wir uns alle auf ein hohes Niveau und gute Unterhaltung freuen. Desweiteren habe ich beschlossen die Non-Country Division nicht mehr anzubieten, da UCWDC durch Funky und jetzt Novelty jetzt 2 Non-Country Divisionen in das normale Programm aufgenommen hat. Wir waren einfach der Zeit voraus. Um auch jetzt der Zeit voraus zu bleiben habe ich eine neue Idee entwickelt um Non-Country zu ersetzen und diese Idee heißt Line Dance Challenge. Näheres gibts in Kürze hier und ich glaube fest daran, daß diese Idee sowohl Teilnehmern als auch Zuschauern eine Menge Freude bereiten wird. Also schaut von Zeit zu Zeit mal rein, es wird sich einiges tun in den nächsten Wochen.

I know it got quit lately, but it will change again around christmas with updates for the event next year. Here's some reading material till then. Ich weiß, daß es in letzter Zeit etwas still war hier und das wird sich um die Weihnachtszeit wieder ändern mit Updates für das Turnier nächstes Jahr. In der Zwischenzeit habe ich etwas Lesematerial für Euch. Regeländerungen für das laufende Jahr (2003 einschliesslich Worlds) und Regeländerungen für das nächste Jahr (2004). Außerdem werde ich einen Thread öffnen im Forum, um diese Änderungen zu diskutieren. Ich würde mich über Eure Meinungen freuen.

16. September  2003 20:10 Placement Plates IV

I got some good news today! I brought the placement plates back with me from the US and i just spend 2 1/2 hours today repacking them. The will be mailed tomorrow. So you should have them by the end of the week. Again I am really sorry for the delay. They fixed the situation by hiring two new people so next year we shouldn't face that problem again. On the other hand there are some bad news. As I repacked the plates I checked them as good as I could for spelling errors and found problems on the following plates, which I requested again today: All teams, van Boogaard, du Breuil, Härchen, Hering, Lienert, van Rossum, Scheurer und Westphal. If you find any errors on them please send me an Email stating the wrong and the correct information and I will get them redone. Thanks again for your patience.

Heute habe ich mal ein paar gute Nachrichten. Ich habe die Platzierungsschilder aus Amerika mitgebracht und habe sind heute in 2 1/2 Stunden umgepackt. Sie werden morgen mit der Post rausgehen und damit sollten sie Ende dieser Woche in Euren Händen sein. Entschuldigt bitte nochmals die verspätete Lieferung. Außerdem wurde dieses entstandene Problem durch das Einstellen 2er neuer Mitarbeiter behoben, so daß wir nächstes Jahr nicht wieder so ein Desaster erleben sollten. Es gibt allerdings auch schlechte Nachrichten: Bei dem flüchtigen Durchsehen habe ich bei folgenden Schildern Fehler festgestellt und habe sie erneut bestellt: Alle Teams, van Boogaard, du Breuil, Härchen, Hering, Lienert, van Rossum, Scheurer und Westphal. Solltet Ihr noch Fehler feststellen, schickt mir bitte eine Email und ich werde sofort die Korrektur veranlassem. Vielen Dank nochmals für Euer Verständniss. 

3. September  2003 18:47 Placement Plates III

Hopefully this is the last update in that nightmare before you got the plates in your hands. I just got of the phone with Randy and it is official the US postal service lost the plates. He will run them again this week and I will go and pick them up personally next week when I am in the states. I will be back September 15th and I will mail them right after I get back. Again I can't say how sorry I am about that subject and I hope for your understanding.

Hoffentlich ist dies das letzte Posting in diesem Albtraum bevor Ihr die Platzierungsschilder tatsächlich in Händen haltet. Ich habe eben gerade mit Randy telefoniert und es ist somit offiziell. Das US Postamt hat unsere Platzierungsschilder verloren. Er wird sie diese Woche neu erstellen und ich werde sie persönlich nächste Woche abholen, wenn ich in den Staten bin. Am 15. September bin ich wieder aus USA zurück und werde dann sofort den Weiterversand veranlassen. Ich kann Euch gar nicht sagen wie leid mir das alles tut und hoffe auf Euer Verständniss.

22. Juli  2003 6:46 Placement Plates II

Here's further update on the placement plates: As it turned out they weren't shipped that day and as it is when you're depending on somebody else to get the job down you are sitting there very helpless watching the whole scene. 5 phone calls later I was assured now that they got mailed on the 21st and I really hope they didn't lie to me again. I am very very sorry for the inconvenience and I will get them out the next day after they get here. Thanks for you patience.

Hier ist nochmal ein Update zu den Platzierungsschildern: Wie sich im nachhinein rausgestellt hat wurden sie nich an dem angegebenen Tag verschickt und wie das so ist, wenn man sich auf andere verlassen muß, bleibt mir im Moment nichts anderes übrig als zu warten bis sie hier ankommen. 5 Telefonate später wurde mir jetzt bestätigt. daß die Schilder am 21ten rausgingen und ich hoffe inständig, daß ich nicht schon wieder angelogen wurde. Diese Verzögerung tut mir sehr leid, ich werde sie direkt am Tag nach dem Eingang verschicken und hoffe auf Euer Verständniss.

9. Juli  2003 7:26 Placement Plates

Hi everybody. I hope you are having a nice summer. Here's just a quick update on the placement plates: They have been shipped to me from the states yesterday by priority mail. It will take them between 7-10 days to get here. The envelopes for all the winners are all ready to go and as soon as the plates get here they will go out within 2 days. Thanks for you understanding they will be there shortly.

Hallo zusammen. Ich hoffe Ihr habt alle einen schönen Sommer. Hier ist ein kleines Update zu den Platzierungsschildern: Sie wurden gestern von den USA aus an mich mit Priority Mail verschickt. 11. Mai  2003 22:34 Competitors list and Superstars

There's been a slight problem with the upload of the competitors list, but it's coming any day now ;) Also it was outdated so fast in the last days, it'll be more correct when we finally get it up. Right now there's 1017 dance entrees and the last 3 registrations contained something special for our audience. We just got 2 more entrees for the Superstar Division on Sunday afternoon. This is gonna be a great show with Roy Hadisubroto on the man's side and Bernadette Carmichael and Kellie Ann Green on the female side. Don't miss it!

Wir hatten heute ein kleines Problem mit dem Upload der Teilnehmerliste, aber sie wird jetzt definitiv die nächsten 2 Tage kommen. Die Aktualität lies eh zu wünschen übrig, da soviele späte Registrierungen kamen. Mittlerweile haben wir 1017 dance entrees. und die letzten 3 Anmeldungen enthielten noch ein besonderes Bonbon für unsere Zuschauer, denn wir erhielten 2 Meldungen für die Superstarstar Division am Sonntag Nachmittag. Das wird eine ganz besonderes Ereigniss mit Roy Hadisubroto bei den Männern und Bernadette Carmichael und Kellie Ann Green bei den Frauen. Also nicht verpassen!!!

I am back on track after my knee surgery and I will work on schedules this weekend. Hopefully we will have a first competitorslist up by this weekend too. Right now we got slightly above 800 dance entrees.

We are proud to announce that Roy Hadisubroto will be dancing in the Superstar Division for the first time ever at the German Championships. He won his last qualification at the Europeans last weekend. Congratulations Roy!

Wir sind stolz verkünden zu lönnen, daß Roy Hadisubroto das aller erste mal Superstars tanzt auf der deutschen Meisterschaft. Er qualifizierte sich durch 2 Siege auf der Europameisterschaft letztes Wochenende. Herzlichen Glückwunsch Roy!

24. April  2003 10:51 FREE Sleepovers from Friday - Sunday

I just got back from a field trip and I managed to negotiate free sleepovers for Friday and Saturday night in a sports hall right next to the main event hall. There will be no comfort since this is only a plain floor, but it's 800m² of floor, a roof over the top and showers. If you are interested in staying there, just bring a sleeping bag or air mattress and you are good to go.

Ich bin gerade zurück von einem kleinen Ausflug nach Kleinostheim. Hierbei ist es mir gelungen die Schulturnhalle für Übernachtungen zu organisieren. Die Halle steht direkt neben dem Veranstaltungsgelände und kann kostenlos benutzt werden für Freitag- und Samstagnacht. Diese Halle bietet zwar wenig Komfort, da es sich um ein 800m² große Fläche handelt, aber mann hat ein Dach über dem Kopf und Duschen. Wer interessiert ist, einfach Schlafsack und/oder Luftmatratze mitbringen.

Since there's been quite a lot of requests about that camping possibility we decieded to set some ground rules: 1. No tents in front of the trailer. 2. Reserve the grass area for the people who bring only tents. 3. Be prepared to put the trailers a little bit closer together 4. Cars are only allowed to load/unload, they must be parked then in designated parking areas. 

Nachdem eine sehr große Nachfrage herrscht zu dem Thema Camping haben wir beschlossen einige Regeln aufzustellen: 1. Bitte keine Vorzelte für Wohnwagen und -mobile. 2. Rasenflächen bitte für die Leute die mit Zelte kommen freihalten. 3. Auf Grund der großen Nachfrage, kann es sein, dass die WW diesesmal enger zusammenstehen müssen.4. Autos nur zum Be- und Entladen auf dem Areal, sonst auf dem Parkplatz.

13. April  2003 14:10 Gesundheit und Ernährung

I will try something new this year at the Germans, which hasn't been done before. I will use one hour out of the workshop schedule to do a presentation on food and health. I've been studying that subject for the last couple months and it's highly interesting. Unfortunally this one will be only in German, but I will do several more of those at other events and some will be in English too. Don't miss it!

Ich werde dieses Jahr auf der Deutschen Meisterschaft atwas ausprobieren, was in dieser Form noch nicht da war. Und zwar werde ich eine Workshopstunde nutzen, um eine Präsentation zum Thema Gesundheit und Ernährung zu halten. Ich bestäftige mich nun einige Monate mit diesem Thema und es ist höchst interessant. Der Vortrag ist ausschließlich in deutscher Sprache, aber es werden auch noch englische Vorträge dieser Art auf anderen Turnieren folgen. Verpasst diesen Vortrag nicht!

Since there is really not that much to report in those early stages I will introduce to you some of our key staff people since we never have enough time at the event to give them the credit they deserve. Hallo zusammen! Nachdem wir noch 2 Monate haben, möchte ich langsam anfangen, Euch mehr Updates zu bieten. Allerdings gibt er in der frühen Phase noch nicht allzuviel zu berichten, deshalb werde ich Euch nun nach und nach einmal ein paar unserer hauptverantwortlichen Mitarbeiter vorstellen, da auf dem Turnier an sich nie genug Zeit bleibt. Dies wird in einer willkürlichen Reihenfolge passieren, angefangen mit denen, die auch einen Homepage link besitzen. Somit könnt Ihr Euch weiterreichende Informationen "ersurfen". Heute gibts erstmal ein paar gefixte Links auf der Line dance Seite für die Video's. Bitte beachtet auch regelmäßig die Schrittbeschreibungen, nachdem diese die Tendenz entwickeln sich von Zeit zu Zeit zu ändern ;) Wenn es Informationen gibt, die Ihr gerne hier sehen würdet, dann schreibt eine Mitteilung ins Forum. Aber bitte keine Zeitplanwünsche, die kommen wenn die Zeit reif ist.

16. Februar  2003 12:40 Some Fixes

Some of the step sheet/video links got mixed up. I fixed all of those today. If there's dead  links, please Email me, I hope I got them all. Also following up on our discussion in the forum: the step sheet for Dana's Waltz got fixed. 

Einige der Schrittbeschreibung/Video links funktionierten nicht mehr. Ich denke ich habs sie alle gefunden. Sollte dem nicht so sein, lasst es mich kurz wissen, dann änder ich das. Und noch ein Nachtrag zu unser Forumsdiskussion: Die Schrittbeschreibung von Dana's Waltz wurde geändert.

16. Februar  2003 12:40 Day Passes

A lot of people asked about the day passes. The prices will be Friday (€ 8) and Sunday (€ 8) and € 14 for Saturday. Day passes include entrance to the competition, workshops and the open dancing. The saturday pass also includes the show at 8pm on saturday night. Please understand that we can't offer passes for saturday during the day only, since we won't clear the hall before the show.

Einige Leute haben mich bereits nach Tageskarte gefragt. Diese Karten sind an der Kasse verfügbar: Freitag (€ 8) und Sonntag (€ 8), der Samstag kostet € 14. Die Tageskarten beinhalten das Turnier, die Workshops und das offene Tanzen. Die Samstagskarte beinhaltet außerdem die Show um 20:00 Uhr. Wir bitten um Verständniss, daß wir keine Tageskarte ohne Show für Samstags anbieten können, da die Halle nicht geräumt wird.

Ok, the Non Country Dance for the Germans has been picked (see below). As usual you can find the sheet by following the Kick It link. For this division there are no rules and we will use the song below in a 2 Minute Version ending with a 4 second fade. Have Fun

Der Non Country Tanz ist da (siehe unten). Wie gewöhnlich könnt Ihr Euch die Schrittbeschreibung auf der Kick It Seite ausdrucken. Für diese Division gibt es keine Regeln und wir werden das unten angegebene Lied in einer 2 Minuten Version plus 4 Sekunden Fade nutzen. Viel Spaß

The new Lilt song is released on the Music page and due to popular demand the Pro-Am Two Step got changed to a far better song.

Ok, it's official now: Due to several conflicts with the June date, the Germans will move to May 30th -June 1st 2003. I am sorry for the inconvenience this might cause. Also I am pretty much offline till November 11th. Just in case you have some questions, please be patient I will answer.

Ok, es ist nun offiziel. Nachdem wir mehrere Konflikte festgestellt haben mit dem Juni Termin, verschiebt sich die Meisterschaft auf den 30. Mai - 1. Juni 2003. Es tut mir leid, wenn das jemandem Umstände bereitet. Außerdem bin ich bin 11. November offline, also geduldet Euch etwas wenn Ihr Fragen habt ich werde sie auf jeden Fall beantworten.

17. Oktober   2002 21:54  Workshopvideo & News

I know this page has been a little slow lately. I will propably take it down for a couple weeks and do a redesign if I have time to bring it back around christmas with new about next years event. The forum link will stay though for the time in between. The workshop video will be mailed tomorrow. That's the latest info I got today and then the chapter Germans 2002 should be finished finally. Again I am really sorry about the delay.

Ich weiß das die News etwas langsam kamen in letzter Zeit. Wahrscheinlich werde ich die Seite auch eine Zeit vom Netz nehmen und mich an einem Redesign versuchen. Der Fourmlink bleibt natürlich erhalten. Dann gibts um die Weihnachtszeit die neue Page mit Infos für das nächste Jahr. Das Workshopvideo wird morgen verschickt. Dies ist die letzte Info von heute morgen und damit können wir dann hoffentlich das Kapitel GCWDC 2002 abschließen. Es tut mir absolut leid, daß es so lange gedauert hat.
